Knaresborough man's epic bike challenge for NHS
He is one of 150 former PE students who trained at the City of Leeds and Carnegie College in the mid-1970s, taking part in a virtual challenge to run, walk and cycle from Lands End to John O’Groats which is a distance of 1,796 miles.
Chairman of the John Metcalf- Blind Jack Of Knaresborough Tri-Centennial Anniversary Committee 2017, Mr Higgins, 65, said: "I've just finished my half hour bike ride. Up to 14.75km after one month. Was struggling to reach 13km at the beginning four weeks ago!"
