Seven-year-old William Sibson from Sherburn-in-Elmet was out with his uncle, Richard Sibson when he saw the man in the city last week. After being told by his uncle that the man had nowhere to live, young William refused to accept his condition and wanted to help. He used £5 of his pocket money to buy the man a sandwich, a drink, and a packet of crisps.

“We were very moved by the whole thing, but we thought it was quite funny too,” said William’s mother, Elizabeth. The £5 was originally meant for William to buy Lego men from The Lego Store, as William is a fan of Lego. However, William decided to not spend it on himself.

“We are very proud of him. He is such a thoughtful little boy.”
