Sunshine welcomed the 500 walkers who took part in the 22nd Rotary Club of Harrogate Nidderdale walk on Sunday at the new venue of Ripley.
With 20 mile, 10 mile, 5 mile, Family and Assisted walks on offer there was a walk for all capabilities.
Three of the walks left Ripley, past the bluebell display in the woods, into the wonderful countryside before returning to Ripley, where there were refreshments on offer, together with a barbecue and licensed bar at the Hotel de Ville.
The Family and Assisted walks took place in the grounds of Ripley Castle.
The Deputy Mayor of Harrogate Coun Nigel Simms started the Assisted walkers on their way.
A spokesperson for the Rotary Club of Harrogate said; “During the past 21 years over £750,000 has been raised and we are hoping to make it up to £800,000 in this 22nd year.
“Many of the walkers have expressed a wish to return next year as they had enjoyed themselves so much.”
