The guests enjoyed a sparkling reception at the west end of the cathedral and was accompanied on the cathedral’s baby grand piano by local solicitor John Tunnard.
Colin Harrison, chairman of the Trustees, welcomed the local, national and international guests, introduced the new Dean of Ripon, The Very Rev John Dobson who gave a witty and entertaining speech and said “my wife Nicola and I are looking forward to getting to know more of the business and local community in and around Ripon”.

Hide AdHe followed on by saying Grace prior to the dinner commencing.
Andrew Bryden, director of music, directed 46 members of the Cathedral Choir who entertained the guests during dinner with stunning sacred music.
Mr Charles Smailes, local auctioneer from Feather Smailes and Scales, conducted the auction.
After dinner the guests were entertained by singer Clayton Brooks and the Groove Academy Band from Leeds.

A most enjoyable and successful evening, we have raised £12,000 towards the Music Trust”, she said “I would particularly like to thank all the sponsors, and all those who helped to make the event a successful and enjoyable evening at the cathedral.
