St Aidan’s Church of England High School’s acclaimed Sixth Form Chamber Choir is gearing up for one of its biggest ever events later this month.

On the strength of their performance at the National Festival of Music for Youth in Birmingham Symphony Hall in July, the Harrogate-based outfit has been asked to perform at the Schools Prom at the Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday November 24, appearing alongside the best of school musical ensembles from across the country.

Director of Music, Mark Pallant, said: “This is a huge achievement and one of the highest honours for any school music ensemble; all the more notable as St Aidan’s Chamber Choir has also been previously invited to the same prestigious event in 2011 and 2013, each time with a completely different choir.

“This indicates very clearly, once again, the consistently high standards achieved by the school’s musical students.”
