Wet and windy weather is coming to Harrogate today and tonight, the Met Office has warned.
Weather warnings are in place for parts of the region for both heavy rain and wind starting mid to late afternoon today (Monday, March 30) and lasting until tomorrow.
And while a spokesman for the Met Office has said this cautioning ‘yellow warning’ avoids Harrogate itself, heavy rains are still coming.
“Harrogate is outside the weather warning for rain, but it is going to be pretty wet out there, and windy as well,” said Dan Williams, Met Office spokesman.
“Most of the rain will be from mid-to-late afternoon and into this evening, and it will rain persistently right through to the early hours of tomorrow.”
Temperatures today will reach highs of 7C, he said, rising to 9 or 10C tonight.
But, he added, temperatures will plummet to around 6C tomorrow (Tuesday), with heavy winds making it feel even colder.
“Tomorrow will be showery and windy and feeling quite chilly, especially with windy gusts of up to 55mph,” he said.
