A NATIONWIDE ladies only gym franchise named an instructor from Harrogate as the instructor of the year at their recent national awards ceremony.
Julie Fieldhouse, who works for the Harrogate branch of Gymophobics, said she was honoured by the award.
“I knew that I had been nominated, but I didn’t expect to win at all,” she said, “It was an honour really, and it was a fantastic night, just brilliant. To be able to do a job that you love and win an award for it as well is just amazing.”
Mrs Fieldhouse won the award after more than 60 of her clients wrote in to the company to nominate her.
The gym, on King Edward’s drive, prides itself on being a unique gym experience, offering a comfortable and friendly environment to women of all ages and all shapes and sizes, and personally tailored fitness plans taking in factors as diverse as medical histories, heart rates and body composition to provide the most efficient experience for its members.
Trish Connor, owner of Harrogate Gymophobics said: “I’m very proud indeed, Julie is very generous, not only with her time, but with her knowledge too.
“She has just always got plenty of time for people. She’s a model employee if I’m honest.”
