Harry Potter mania broke out once more in Harrogate as scores of youngsters - and the not quite so young - flocked to a late opening of Waterstones book store.
The purpose of the shop's special event on Saturdaty night/Sunday morning at a time when most kids are tucked up in bed was the publication of a new Harry Potter book - well, almost.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany and Jack Thorne.
Hordes of fans, often dressed in costume as famous characters from Hogwarts - or the little wizard himself - poured into Waterstones on James Street, Harrogate to get their hands on their pre-paid copy of the book at midnight.
The new book which fans snapped up eagerly is the 'Official Script Book of the Original West End Production'
It is currently being staged in the West End as a two-part play written by Jack Thorne and has received rave reviews for being, literally, "spellbinding."
The new story begins 19 years after the previous instalments and finds Harry Potter as an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children!
Waterstones in Harrogate also made sure there were plenty of other treats to keep the midnight fans happy.
