Harrogate weather: Dull start to the day but sunny spells will return for the weekend

Cloudy skies will give way to sunny spells today as blue skies return to Harrogate later this afternoon and into the weekend.

The dull start to Wednesday is expected to clear by the end of the day.

Harrogate's Majestic Hotel to become DoubleTree by HiltonThe Met Office predicts the dull start to Wednesday will soon blow away thanks to a cool northerly breeze, heralding much finer conditions as the day goes on.

Temperatures will struggle to match the highs of Tuesday, but it should still feel warm with a maximum of 14C.

Early forecasts for the weekend predict 'a good deal of sunshine' with plenty of clear blue skies and warming temperatures.

Patchy rain at first soon clearing away south. Brighter skies edging south, with sunshine becoming more prevalent through the course of the day. Feeling notably cooler than Tuesday, with a brisk northerly wind. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Harrogate weather for tonight:

Dry with clear spells, and becoming cold inland with a rural grass frost likely where winds fall lighter. Breezier along the coast. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Harrogate weather for Thursday:

Dry with plenty of sunshine after a chilly start. Winds generally lighter and feeling pleasant enough inland, but a cooler onshore breeze along the coast. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Harrogate outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Dry with a good deal of sunshine for most of the outlook period. Chilly nights, but daytime temperatures gradually warming. Winds generally light, but perhaps cloudier, breezier later Sunday.
