A white Vauxhall Astra van and a silver Ford Focus collided on the A658 between the two junctions for North Rigton, on Monday night at around 5.30pm.

The van, which had ‘Future Builds’ written on the side was travelling towards Huby when it crashed into the car travelling in the opposite direction, towards Harrogate.

The Ford Focus driver, a 60-year-old woman from the Harrogate area, was shocked but not injured by the collision.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle prior to the incident to come forward with information.

It has been reported that the van may have overtaken a number of other vehicles prior to the collision and officers would like to speak to anyone who remembers being passed by it.
