Harrogate Sea Cadets recognised at inspirational awards evening

The hard work and dedication of the Harrogate Sea Cadets was celebrated in a special awards evening at the Cedar Court hotel on February 6.

It was an opportunity to reflect on their achievements and what makes the Sea Cadets special.

Able Cadet Yasmin Malik said: “The Sea Cadets is a community, we’re like a family and it’s really fun to be part of.”

Cadet First Class Jenna Quinn said: “It’s good because you get opportunities you might not get at school or anywhere else.”

Commanding Officer Michelle Blackburn said: “It is such a tough job picking the winners because they are all so talented, and that’s why we try to recognise all of the cadets where we can. It’s been a great evening celebrating their successes.”

The Mayor of the Borough of Harrogate, Coun Nick Brown, said: “You should all be very proud of what you’ve achieved.”
