Harrogate school links up with astronaut Tim Peake

Pupils at a Harrogate area school linked live with British astronaut Tim Peake during an out of this world science lesson.

Class 5W from Chapter House Preparatory School, part of Queen Eltheburga’s Collegiate Foundation, contaced the International Space Station (ISS) during a special sessions along with other schools around the UK.

Tim demonstrated a number of science activities from the ISS and he answered some of the thousands of questions submitted by students, giving them an insight to life on board the space station.

Class 5W were one of 11 classes from across the United Kingdom invited to the live event, hosted by Kevin Fong, which was held at World Museum in Liverpool. Kevin was joined by around 300 students and spoke to Tim direct from the ISS. Two children were also chosen to be interviewed for the local Calendar programme.
