Harrogate DJ Pete Allison will broadcast across the nation on Radio 1 for a second time later this year.

Former St Aidan’s pupil Pete, 21, will again host the 4am-6.30am early breakfast slot, from August 26.

He last hosted the show in March.

Pete said: “It is a slot people like Chris Moyles have had in the past, and they went on to do more.

“I don’t know what will happen, I just want to make a good impression on important people with the time I have here.”

After leaving St Aidan’s in 2009, Pete studied broadcast journalism at Nottingham Trent University, where he earned the Student Radio Award for Best Male Presenter in 2011.

He explained: “I was clear on what I wanted to do, and when I started doing student radio, it reaffirmed it for me.

“The prize for winning the award was a one-off show on Radio 1.

“I joined Capital Yorkshire for a couple of months when I was still based in Harrogate before moving to London.

“I got to do weekend breakfast when I was there.

“Harrogate is my home town, I did work experience in Leeds, and I was back in the town all the time when I was at university as a Leeds United season ticket holder!”
