Two best friends from Harrogate have won the northern region stage of the new Channel 4 series, My Kitchen Rules UK, and will next appear on our screens tomorrow (October 31) at 5pm as they move one step closer to winning the £10,000 prize money.

Committed to using locally sourced ingredients, dietitian Anna Daniels, 34, and chiropractor Faye Deane, 33, are "absolutely thrilled" that they have made it through to the Kitchen HQ stage of the competition.

The duo staged their health conscious restaurant, 'The Provincial Kitchen' at home in Harrogate in the northern heat, and had to cook a three-course restaurant standard meal against the clock for their rivals, and for judges Michael Caines and Prue Leith to critique and score.

Anna said: "We are really proud and excited that we came out on top and won the northern region. Michael Caines really understood the concept of our restaurant. He said the food was a reflection of our personalities which was lovely."Prue, a renowned pastry chef, gave us 9/10 for the dessert and said the pastry was wafer thin and beautiful. We were absolutely thrilled. To go through to kitchen head quarters and have immunity from the cook-off was a huge relief.

"I feel that we did Yorkshire proud. We've had lots of support from Harrogate and the district which is lovely, we've had a lot of tweets and positive feedback which is great. We have even had requests online for recipes.

"What is important to me is that where possible we use the best local ingredients and we also try to source in season organic British produce, which is what we've done on the show. We did use local ingredients and support local businesses wherever possible."

Will Anna and Faye win the competition? Tune in to Channel 4 at 5pm tomorrow to see how they get on!
