Harrogate College has joined forces with Harrogate Spa Tennis Centre to offer their students the chance to play tennis, regardless of what they study, as part of a new drive to get young people interested in the sport.

The college supports students studying sports as well as those pursuing a wide range of vocational qualifications, and all will have access to the team of Harrogate Spa Tennis Centre coaches, benefiting from their expertise as well as the 6 brand new outdoor courts offered by the Tennis Centre at Claro Park.

The partnership builds on other successful sporting links developed by the college, such as their collaboration with Harrogate Town A.F.C. and Rudding Park Golf Academy.

Debra Forsythe-Conroy, Harrogate College Principal, said: “We are once again delighted to be able to offer young people a new and exciting opportunity to get involved with sport.”

Carolyn Rothwell, Tennis Director of Harrogate Spa Tennis Centre said: “Working together with Harrogate College and their students will produce home grown tennis players and coaches of the future. With an indoor tennis court facility planned for HSTC, Harrogate can become a centre of excellence for sport in Yorkshire.”For more information on the partnership, please contact Harrogate College on 01423 878211, visit www.harrogate-college.ac.uk or email [email protected]
