Great Yorkshire Show live: Travel, weather and ticket updates

UNDER perfect skies, the advance guard of an expected 130,000 visitors have begun pouring into Harrogate's Great Yorkshire Showground for England's largest agricultural event.

The three-day Great Yorkshire Show, staged at a cost of £3m, and now in its 158th year, has attracted more than 12,000 competitive entries involving more than 8,000 animals.

Perfect weather is forecast for the first day, with light winds and only the distant chance of a light shower.

Very heavy traffic on the A59. Journeys taking around 25 minutes longer than normal.

Busy at Spofforth Hill and Pannal.

Inbound only traffic on Wetherby Road, Harrogate. This will be reversed later in the day to ease congestion.

Everyone heading to the show is advised to do so as early as possible.
