For the second consecutive year the Sherburn in Elmet Craft and Food Festival has secured a host of well-known chefs and talented entertainers for its ticket-holders to enjoy.

This includes GBBO star Howard Middleton who, as well as leading a series of exciting baking demonstrations, will also be opening the Pecan Deluxe Candy sponsored event.

After a hugely successful inaugural show in 2017, the three-day festival is back in Eversley Park during the late summer Bank Holiday from August 25 to 27.

This year there will be more than 100 exhibits and attractions.

Due to popular demand the organisers have introduced extended opening hours on Sunday evening - the Afterfest - as well as live entertainment, children’s activities, a funfair, a new vintage car and bike display and, the highlight of the show, engaging and insightful cookery demos.

The demonstration kitchens will be in great demand throughout the event with Howard Middleton returning, also by popular demand, to reprise his role leading a team of well-known chefs giving away their best tips and secrets.

Howard specialises in gluten-free bakery and will be using ingredients including fudges and pralines from food tailor and home-grown employer Pecan Deluxe to show how gluten-free bakery treats including madeleines, tarts and cakes can be just as delicious as gluten-laden alternatives.

Howard won the hearts of GBBO viewers with his engaging personality and sense of humour and has since gone on to demonstrate his creative approach at numerous food festivals, shows and teaching at artisan food schools. Don’t miss his demonstrations at 11am, 1pm and 3pm on Saturday, August 25.

Pecan Deluxe business development manager Jenny Baillie explained: “As a local employer with a global reputation, Pecan Deluxe is totally committed to supporting events such as the Sherburn in Elmet Craft and Food Festival. As sponsor we can help to provide exposure to regional businesses hosting stands, as well as a great day or days out for visitors. We’re absolutely delighted to continue our partnership with Howard who uses his incredible talent to demonstrate the versatility of Pecan Deluxe inclusions, particularly in gluten-free markets - perfect if you have a family member with a gluten intolerance or simply want to make a lifestyle change.

“The festival promises to be an even bigger success than last year and, as tickets are extremely good value and include all on-site activities such as the cookery demos, I would urge people not to miss out and pre-book your discounted tickets today.”
