TWO people who have spent years helping others have attended garden parties at Buckingham Palace.
Roxanna Clifton and Gill Jennison were invited to the parties, along with their husbands, after being nominated by Caroline Smale, the former principal of Henshaws College.
Now retired, Roxanna spent many years working as a tutor for adult students at Henshaws, while Gill is the vice-principal of the college.
Caroline also suggested a third person, Fred Taylor, to attend the Queen’s Garden Party, but he sadly died in May before he learned of the nomination.
Caroline said: “Fred was a man of strong character, duty and responsibility.
“He was a highly respected and valued part of the college community.”
