The strike is set to take place on Wednesday, May 9 and will see trains available from between 7am and 7pm. There will be more than 1,300 trains and around 65 per cent of Northern's normal weekly timetable operating on the day.

Because of this the company has said it expects the trains and any replacement buses to be extremely busy.
