Former library up for sale

THE former Starbeck Library has gone on the market, priced at £250,000.

The stone and brick building at the Avenue, which began life as a chapel, ceased to operate as a library in January.

Housing website Right Move says it has “potential for conversion to residential use or for a wide range of alternative uses” and is inviting offers of more than £250,000.

A replacement library, housing other council and community services, opened in February after a £545,000 refurbishment.
