A call is due to be made on plans to expand services at one of Harrogate’s most iconic venues as part of efforts to grow the Harrogate brand.
Harrogate Borough Council (HBC) will consider whether to approve a five year development strategy for the Turkish Baths at a session of Cabinet on Wednesday, August 23.
If approved visitors could look forward to the introduction of a ‘wet spa and thermal space’, a traditional Hammam rub down area and extra beauty services being offered including a heritage nail bar.
Coun Stanley Lumley, HBC Cabinet Member for Culture, Tourism and Sport said: “There is a growing demand for spa and wellness experiences and it is important that we look at the current industry trends and evolve so that we stay one step ahead of the competition.”
Chris Mason, Manager at the Turkish Baths added that he believes the introduction of new services, along with improvements on existing ones, offer a chance to help build the Harrogate brand on the national and international stage.
