Fine run-chase sees '˜Gate seal cup progress in final over

Hide AdOpener Neil Longhurst made that decision look a good one, smashing 142 from just 110 balls to guide the visitors to a commanding position at the halfway stage of proceedings, despite 3-24 from ‘Gate seamer Tom Geeson-Brown.
Skipper George Ross (42), Eddie Wilson (23) and Jack Potticary (20) got the hosts off to a solid start in reply before Will Bates (78) and Josh Atkinson (63) took over.
The match entered the final over with Harrogate still just short of their target, but a knock of 28 from Harry Stothard helped them over the line at 297/5 with three balls to spare.
The Roosters return to league action on Saturday when they host Castleford, noon start.
