ALMOST 500 people have registered for the Nidderdale Walk - which is just over a week away.
With more than 1,100 people having completed the charity walk last year, organisers are expecting a late rush of entries this year.
The event offers three main walks of seven, 15 and 22 miles, all starting and ending in Pateley Bridge, as well as a four-mile walk designed for people with disabilities starting at Scar House Dam and finishing in Lofthouse.
Car parking is free for entrants and there will be first aid and medical cover, refreshments and pubs en route.
Last year’s walk raised more than £50,000, mainly for local charities, bringing the total raised in its 17-year history to £600,000.
The Nidderdale Walk is organised by the Rotary Club of Harrogate and takes place on Sunday, May 15, with entrants able to select their own charities to support.
