Stars from the world of cycling will be joining Welcome to Yorkshire at this year’s Great Yorkshire Show to celebrate the county’s hosting of the successful inaugural Tour de Yorkshire.

Cycling favourite Brian Robinson – the first Briton to win a stage of the Tour de France - will at the pop-up cycling zone, which forms part of Welcome to Yorkshire’s famous pink and white stand.

The attraction will be a haven to fans of cycling and the Tour de Yorkshire, filled with memories from an incredible first edition of the county’s very own bike race and people will be invited to have their photograph holding the Tour de Yorkshire trophy.

The ever-popular Yorkshire beach will return to the Welcome to Yorkshire stand with sand transported straight from the Yorkshire shores, along with donkeys making the journey over from the coast for a day out.

There will also be a spa-in-miniature, giving visitors a chance to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the Great Yorkshire Show to relax and unwind.

The much anticipated winner of Yorkshire’s Favourite Pub 2015 will be announced after a record year of nominations and votes in the hugely popular competition.

Gary Verity, Chief Executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “It’s nearly that time of year again when summer is upon us and we can turn our attention to spending a few days at the UK’s biggest and best agricultural show.”

He added: “This year we’ll be welcoming the usual crowd favourites at the Welcome to Yorkshire stand, as well as celebrating the incredible success of the inaugural Tour de Yorkshire earlier this year.

“Hopefully the weather will be kind to us again this year, and we’ll all be putting out the deckchairs on our own little slice of the Scarborough sands, right in the middle of the Great Yorkshire Show.”

Bill Cowling, Honorary Show Director, said: “I’m delighted Welcome to Yorkshire are supporting the Great Yorkshire Show for a seventh year running.

“Their huge pink and white stand showcases the very best days out in Yorkshire and will be a great place for families to come discover some hidden Yorkshire gems as well as re-living wonderful memories of the first ever Tour de Yorkshire.”

The Welcome to Yorkshire team will be at stand 630 at the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate, which runs from Tuesday 14 to Thursday 16 July.
