Trees planted for Jubilee

MORE than 100 trees will be planted by Horticap in Harrogate to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

The charity was given a wildlife-themed pack of 105 trees as part of a national scheme by the Woodland Trust to plant more than six million trees next year.

The project has been supported by Pannal Primary School pupils and members of Birstwith Horticultural Society, who have been helping plant some of the trees from the Otley Road centre.

More than 200,000 free trees have already been sent out to organisations around the country, benefiting both communities and wildlife.
