Does this sign say Harrogate supports cyclists?

It’s just about a year since the arrival of the Tour De France and Le Grand Depart in Yorkshire gave cycling in the Harrogate a massive boost but the message on The Stray itself suddenly seems a little different.

Cyclists may have thought the great Stray debate was dead and buried back in 2006 when the Harrogate Advertiser was inundated with letters from people for and against cycling on The Stray’s paths.

The controversial issue seemed settled when Harrogate Borough Council said the rules did, in fact, allow cycling on those precious 200 acres of park land in the middle of town.
