A 91-year-old woman died in a road traffic collision in Knaresborough on Saturday afternoon.

North Yorkshire Police confirmed the pedestrian died at the scene on Forest Moor Road, as a result of the 12.35pm collision with a green Toyota Aygo car.

The 88-year-old driver of the car, described as local by police, was unhurt.

The force is now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward with information.

The collision took place 400m from the B6163 junction on Saturday, June 15.

Diversions were put in place while police examined the scene, and the road re-opened at 4.10pm.
