The elderly gentlemen was walking along Loup Scar in Burnsall when he fell on the path and hit his head on Sunday afternoon.
14 members of the UWFRA team were called out at around 2.40pm by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with the casualty, who needed to go to hospital.
The man was treated by YAS paramedics and by a doctor who was passing-by on the walk.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance were also called out but stood down en-route after the man was able to walk to the road ambulance unassisted.
