Elderly driver cut corner, knocked down Harrogate cyclist and then drove off
Police are seeking an elderly driver who failed to stop at the scene of a crash in Harrogate.
A 34-year-old cyclist from the Harrogate area was riding his bike on Robert Street when he was knocked down near Waitrose.
The cyclist was stationary at the junction with Station Parade and waiting to turn right at around midday on Wednesday, February 22.
A small, light coloured car travelled along Station Parade and turned right into Robert Street, but cut across the corner and drove into the waiting cyclist.
The driver, who was described as a man in his 70s, then drove away along Station Parade without stopping.
The cyclist was taken by ambulance to Harrogate Hospital where he was treated for leg injuries.
He has since been discharged and is recovering at home.
