Harrogate’s Ashville College is to play host to a “summer of fun” – with a series of events scheduled to take place in and around the school and its grounds.

The first event to kick off the summer season is a family fun day, being held on Saturday, July 13 at the College’s sports centre.

Admission is free and activities on offer include badminton and tennis, a family swimming session, kids’ activities and competitions.

The sports club will also offer discounted family memberships and will waive the joining fee and first month’s payment for people who sign up on the day.

For tennis players, the school is offering pay as you go access to its 15 courts, nine of which are on the new, all-weather pitch.

Hire rates are £8/hour per court, all day every day throughout the summer, and booking is essential.

The busy schedule continues with a charity 5-a-side football tournament on Saturday, July 20 in aid of Saint Michael’s Hospice.

There is a £30 entry fee per team and all proceeds will go to the charity.

Just two days later, Ashville will also play host to children’s Super Camps, which run until August 30. These camps feature a range of activities including arts and crafts, trekking and sports sessions.

Over the last 12 months the College has opened a £750,000 all-weather surface pitch and made4 a £100,000 upgrade to the swimming pool,

The Andrew Flintoff Cricket Academy will also be staged in August.
