Students at Nidderdale High had a NICE day making links to the community.
Challenge and Aspiration was the theme of the fourth Nidderdale Independence Challenge and Enrichment (NICE) day which happens once a half term.
Mrs Dover, Joint Head of School, said: “The school’s vision to support all its students to develop into responsible, independent young people who are able to contribute to their community and thrive in the world beyond Nidderdale is always at the forefront of our minds when we plan NICE day activities.”
Older students had mock interviews with local business people, supported by the Ripon Rotary Club.
Tom Warrender and his Medical Mavericks Workshops tied in to the STEM activities the school promotes.
NYBEP, in collaboration with DRAX Group plc, delivered its Project Reinvent to all Year 8 students and Year 7 spent some of the day on a Coding Challenge.
Other activities included an Autism awareness workshop, online safety talks, anti-bullying sessions, physical challenges and relationship building.
In September the school will be welcoming the maximum number of new Year 7 students through its doors.
