St Cuthbert’s C of E Primary School, Pateley Bridge has a reputation for high academic standards whilst creating a wealth of opportunities for its pupils.
Our provision for both music and sport sets the school apart with all children in key stage two learning to play a brass instrument as part of an ensemble. Every year our children even have a chance to learn fencing!
Children start school in our nursery/reception class, one of the few schools in the locality who have a school nursery, ready to provide the new 30 hours of funded nursery education.
The benefits for our nursery children are immense. They have the nurture and care of a specialist early years teacher and practitioner who provides practical, play based learning opportunities whilst also getting the chance to learn alongside the older children at “big school”.
Nursery children are also able to access our before and after school club, along with the rest of the school. Our wrap around care means we are open from 7.45am until 5.30pm every school day.
As a church school we work in partnership with our local church and Christian values are brought to life in everything that we do.
The children say “they enjoy coming to school because they like their lessons, appreciate the huge range of clubs and because everyone is friendly all the time”.
Our staff team are deeply committed to promoting a love of learning in a friendly, family atmosphere.
Federation with Fountains Earth C of E Primary School is imminent following two successful years of collaboration.
Benefits to both schools have been seen in shared sporting events, after school clubs, social events and learning experiences.
As the federation develops, wider opportunities will ensue.
Our school serves Pateley Bridge and the surrounding locality. Strong links with our local secondary school, Nidderdale High, mean that transition is seamless.
We are proud to say that visitors always comment on the feel of the school, the children’s manners, good behaviour and the richness of opportunities on offer.
A visit is an ideal way to discover this for yourself – please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like to see the school in action.
