Thousands of families have found out which primary school their child will attend in Harrogate.
Across North Yorkshire 94 per cent of parents or carers of primary age children secured their first choice school.
The council said the figure which is the same as last year’s is higher than most other places in the country. In some parts of England one in six families missed on their first choice place.
All 6,456 children in North Yorkshire have received the offer of a place and almost 98 per cent of all applicants were allocated a place at one of their preferred schools.
Pete Dwyer, Corporate Director for the Children and Young People’s Service said: “We are very pleased that so many of our families have once again been able to gain their first preference from their choice of schools.”
