Harrogate students witness Murray magic

Ten students from Harrogate High School travelled to Wimbledon to watch a day´s tennis with the PE department.

They watched Andy Murray play Spain´s Fernando Verdasco in the Men´s Singles quarter finals.

The match took three and a half hours and the students stayed right to the end to cheer on their home favourite.

As the school had obtained quarter final tickets for the show courts, the students were also able to watch Djokovic beat Berdych on Court No.1 earlier in the day.

Student Aidan Lovett c said: “We had a great day at Wimbledon on the hill.”

Scott Newbould said: “it was a great experience, we were very fortunate to be able to go and I loved every minute of it.”

Jess Kirby added: “It was an amazing experience, I would definitely go again, go Andy!”

Head of PE Emma Lewis said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for the students to experience and well worth the long drive back to school.”
