Hundreds of staff and students at Harrogate High School have dressed up as their favourite comic, book or film character to raise money for a children’s cancer charity.
The event, last Friday October 11, was arranged by a group of sixth formers as part of their AS Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (COPE) course, and raised £400 for the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group. Students paid a 50p donation, and staff £1, to dress up as characters including Captain Jack Sparrow, Fagin, James Bond, Minnie Mouse, Snow White, Robin Hood and even a Smurf.
Teacher Mrs Wilkinson said: “The students worked together to decide on what event they would like to plan, shared out the roles and met regularly to brief each other on their progress.
They have done an excellent job at organising and hosting this event and I am very proud of them.”
