High Bond End will be closed for a week from Saturday, February 18, as the NGN replaces 560m of ageing metal pipes with more durable plastic ones in its gas distribution network.

Two-way temporary traffic lights were previously in place on High Bond End at the junction of Coverdale Drive and had been moved in 100m sections as work was completed.

The company has apologised for any disruption caused by its five-week project which started on Monday, January, 30.

Robert Hope, Construction Services Area Manager at Northern Gas Networks said: “We have been working closely with North Yorkshire County Council to carefully plan these works in order to minimize disruption to customers.

“We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these works, and thank our customers for their patience and support in getting them completed as quickly as possible.”

Pedestrians will continue to have access as work to upgrade the network proceeds.

Engineers are working on the site Monday to Sunday from 8am to 5pm.
