A LOTTO prize of more than £175,000 has yet to be claimed in Harrogate.
The search is on to find the owner of a winning ticket before the deadline for claiming the prize passes on Monday, July 2 at 5.30pm.
The lucky ticket-holder matched five numbers and the bonus ball in the Lotto draw on Wednesday, January 4 and stands to take home £177,461.
The winning Lotto numbers on that date were 9, 26, 28, 30, 42, 43 and the bonus ball was 2.
A National Lottery spokesman said: “We’re desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings – this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life, and what a way it would be to start 2012. We’re urging everyone to check their old tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding.
“Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa – someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune.
“We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”
If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the money, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to the Good Causes.
To jog Lotto players’ memories, Wherever You Are by Military Wives topped the UK singles chart at the time, while Michael Buble was at number one in the UK album chart with Christmas .
Football fans will remember that Leeds United were in action a couple of days before the draw. They played Burnley in a home game, eventually winning 2-1.
Anyone who believes they have the winning ticket for any of the National Lottery draws within the 180-day deadline should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.
