A team of father and son golfers recently took to the fairways to raise £4,500 for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
The Dads and Lads - Dom and Peter Jesper, Sandy and Gus Dunlop - braved the very wet weather and tackled the charity’s Longest Day Challenge and raised £4,500 which was double their target.
“We survived and are all extremely proud of our achievements,” said spokesman Peter Jesper.
“It was miserable weather and we went through several changes of clothes.
“But thanks to the support from family and friends we managed to get through the day with smiles on our faces, especially as now we have collected £4,500 pounds.”
He added that the father and son duos started playing at 5am and finished at 8.30pm having completed four rounds and 72 holes.
“It was 20 miles of walking and our scoring improved as the day progressed,” added Peter who said that people can donate through their just giving page Pannal Dads and Lads..
