Nidd Chorale: present an evening of Carols by Candlelight at Summerbridge Methodist Church on Saturday, December 15 at 7.30pm. There will be a musical programme to appeal to all ages and tastes, with some seasonal pieces for audience participation, and a little Caribbean twist. Concert for Christmas: with The Highside Singers at Darley Methodist Church on Saturday, December 15 at 7.30pm. Tickets £6 to include supper available on the door. Everyone welcome.
Carols for Christmas: at Darley Methodist Church with Summerbridge and Dacre Silver Prize Band at 6.30pm on Sunday, December 23, not December 18 as advertised in The Voice. To be followed by tea/coffee and mince pies.
Darley Christmas Dance: the annual Darley Christmas Dance will take place at Darley Memorial Hall on Saturday, December 22 from 7.45pm. There will be dancing to the music of Lyne Valley and a full buffet supper. Tickets for the evening cost £12.50 are available from 01423 780258
New Years Eve in Darley: there are just a few tickets left for the Darley New Years Eve village party at Darley Memorial Hall. It will be a fantastic way to see in the New Year, with a three course meal, Big Ben on the giant screen at midnight, and a disco into the early hours playing a wide range of music. The hall is transformed into a magical setting and everybody is assured of an evening to remember. Tickets are £27.50 each and are available by calling 01423 780970. But hurry, over 130 tickets have already been sold, and just a few remain.
Winter Exhibition: currently showing at The Studio in Dacre Banks (HG3 4EL) The exhibition includes work from five local artists: photography from Paul Harris, sculpture from Steve Blaylock, limited editions from printmaker Janis Goodman, paintings and prints from Frances Payne and silk art from Jane Carlisle Bellerby. We also have a stunning collection of handmade greetings cards both seasonal and generic. The Winter Exhibition at The Studio is on until January 24 and features stunning, affordable gifts to suit every taste. The Studio is open 10am-4pm, Wednesday-Saturday and is also the working studio of professional artist Frances Payne. Flowers for Christmas: nationally qualified tutor, Pat Hutchinson, will instruct a one-day Christmas floral art workshop at Dacre & Hartwith Village Hall in Dacre Banks on Monday, December 17, 10am - 3.30pm in aid of the maintenance of the village hall. At this popular Flowers for Christmas event you will be able to create at least three beautiful floral arrangements to enhance your home at Christmas, with emphasis placed on using fresh seasonal foliage with flowers. Darley Celebrations book: the second book from Darley Heritage Group is now on sale, covering Darley celebrations, both community and private, over the last 100 years. The book is now available at £7.95 in local outlets or direct from Sue on 780970. Why not buy the book as a Christmas present for someone in your family. All profits go back to the Heritage Group to fund future projects.
