A CYCLIST has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash near Pateley Bridge.

The man, aged in his 40s and from the Derbyshire area, was hurt in a crash on the B6265 at around 4.25pm last Friday.

Police said he collided with a crash barrier after attempting to overtake a vehicle on Red Brae Bank towards Pateley Bridge. The vehicle was not involved in the collision.

He suffered serious back and pelvic injuries and was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
