A pair of young teenage boys were arrested in the early hours of this morning (April 1) in connection with two attempted burglaries in Harrogate.
Police received a report of an attempted burglary at an address in Birstwith Road at 3.30am, followed another attempted burglary report at 5am on Nightingale Drive.
Officers responded after the suspects were seen running away on foot and on CCTV with the North Yorkshire K9 section and a police helicopter also in pursuit.
The two boys, aged 13 and 14, were eventually tracked from the victim's house by the K9 unit and found hiding in an alleyway several streets away.
The boys were arrested on suspicion of burglary and remain in police custody pending further enquiries.
Roads Policing Group Sgt Paul Cording, who was involved in the operation, praised the 'great team effort' from those involved in the response.
