POLICE want to speak to two drivers who stopped at the scene when a taxi hit a wall in Huby.
The white Toyota Avensis was travelling on the A658 from Harrogate towards Huby when it collided with the wall near Weeton Station, causing substantial damage to the brickwork and a road sign.
The car came to rest on the opposite side of the road and the drivers of two silver cars, which were not involved, stopped to help.
The driver, a 29-year-old man from Keighley, was not injured and no other vehicles were involved in the collision on Sunday, November 20 at 8.40am.
TC Tracy Smales of Harrogate Roads Policing Group, said: “We believe two drivers kindly stopped at the scene of the collision to provide assistance. They were both driving silver cars, we believe one was a BMW.
“I would like to speak to these motorists as they may have important information which could help our investigation.
“I would also like to speak to any other motorists who were driving along the Knaresborough to Huby road on Sunday morning and saw the taxi on its journey, or anyone who witnessed the actual collision.”
Anyone with any information should contact TC Smales on 0845 60 60 247, quoting reference 12110196404.
