The body of a young woman, aged in her 20s or 30s, has been found by police in Harrogate this morning.
Officers were called to Lancaster Park Road in Harrogate by paramedics at 11.50am today (Wednesday) after a woman’s body was discovered.
A police cordon was put in place around a property known as Brandon Lodge, near to the hospital, while crime scene officers investigated.
“At this stage it is not known how the woman has died or the circumstances which led to her death,” a spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said.
“Police officers have put a cordon in place while they carry out a full examination of the area where the woman’s body was found.
“We are not in a position to confirm how the woman died and if there are any suspicious circumstances which led to her death.”
The cordoned-off building, near to the junction with Knaresborough Road, is believed to be made up of private flats and properties let by a housing association.
One neighbour, who used to live in the block, said it was often used as temporary accommodation.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman’s sudden death.
