UPDATE: Investigation into sexual assault ends
As previously reported, a woman in her thirties claimed to have been assaulted at Quarry Moor Nature Reserve on the edge of the city on the morning of Tuesday, March 24.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: “We would like to reassure the public that the circumstances were not as first reported.

Det Chf Insp Allan Harder, who led the investigation, said, “We take any reports of sexual assault very seriously and all reports are fully investigated.
“We encourage victims to come forward to report any such crime.
