Two arrested after town centre assault

A Ripon man was suffered serious head injuries in an attack in Harrogate town centre on Sunday morning.

The 29-year-old man was taken to York Hospital after the attack near the junction of Union Street and Kings Road.

Two men aged 39 and 40 were arrested in connection with the assault and they remain in police custody for questioning.

Police are appeling to anyone with information about the incident which took place at around 4.15am on Sunday April 26 to come forward.

In particular, officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault or was in Bambinos takeaway around the time the incident occurred.
