Three men arrested after 3kg heroin find

Two Harrogate men appeared before Harrogate Magistrates Court yesterday (Wednesday October 2), charged with drug offences.

The men, aged 39 and 47, have been charged with possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply after police found a significant amount of heroin in their car.

Officers pulled their Ford Ka over at 11.10am on Monday September 30 2013 on the A59 at West Marton, in the Skipton area, and found three kilograms of heroin in the boot.

Another man, aged 37, was also arrested in connection with the incident and was released on police bail as enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Pete Martin, of Harrogate CID, said: “While is not appropriate to comment about this particular case while court proceedings are ongoing, it is important to send a clear message that North Yorkshire Police will not tolerate the supply of drugs in our area and we will continue to do everything we can to disrupt and stop the activities of anyone we suspect of doing so.”
