Police appeal to trace car spotted before Harrogate burglary

Police are trying to trace a small silver car which was spotted in Pannal before three masked men broke into a home on Brackenthwaite Lane.

One occupant of the house was injured when the three men raided the home, stealing cash and jewellery on Friday February 6.

A small silver car was spotted parked on the road outside the house with people inside before the robbery.

DC Vincent Formosa, of Harrogate CID, said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who has seen a small silver vehicle in the Brackenthwaite Lane area, and can provide information describing the vehicle, its occupants and the times they have seen it, to contact the police.

“In addition, if you are the owner of the vehicle, please get in touch as you may have vital information that could help this investigation.

“I would like to reassure the public that every effort is being made to identify the people responsible for this incident and bring them to justice.”

The force is currently investigating a separate incident in which an elderly couple were tied up by masked raiders who stole jewellery and cash from their South Park Road home in January.

Police said the investigation is at a very early stage and any possible links with previous incidents of this nature will be part of the extensive police enquiries into the burglary.
