Police appeal after alleged sexual assault in Harrogate supermarket

An alleged sexual assault in a Harrogate supermarket has sparked an appeal by police for other potential victims to come forward.

North Yorkshire Police received reports on Tuesday (July,31) that a man put his hand on a woman's leg as he bent to pick up money from the floor at the Harrogate branch of Asda on Bower Road. It is believed to have occurred at 6pm.

Other women may have been touched in a similar way at the supermarket, police believe, and are appealing for victims to come forward.

A man was arrested in connection with the incident but has since been released on bail while the investigation continues.
