Neighbour admits helping alleged murderer by burying woman's burnt body in shallow grave

Keith Wadsworth pleaded guilty to an offence of assisting an offender on the second day of a trial at Leeds Crown Court.

Wadsworth was on trial accused of the offence alongside Dale Tarbox, who is accused of murdering Susan Howells.Jurors have been told how Miss Howells' decomposing remains were found in a shallow grave at a caravan park in Doncaster in August last year

Tarbox, 39, is accused of murdering the 51-year-old and storing her body in a wheelie bin at a house in Bradford before taking it to the caravan park to be buried.

Jurors heard it was the prosecution case that Wadsworth, 60, buried the body at the instigation of Tarbox.

Wadsworth, of Station Road, Doncaster, entered the guilty plea to the charge this morning (March 17).

Tarbox continues to deny the murder charge.

He has already pleaded guilty to a charge of preventing a lawful burial.

After Tarbox was arrested, police found clips on his mobile phone of Miss Howells carrying out a sex act on him.

Tarbox and Wadsworth were neighbours at the caravan park.

Tarbox denies the murder, claiming his 64-year-old girlfriend, Joan Arnold, killed Miss Howells by strangling her at their former home in Bradford.
