Man left with stitches following violence in Knaresborough

A man was left requiring stitches to treat a cut to his head after a violent incident in Knaresborough on Sunday.

The incident involved two people and occurred on Jockey Lane in Knaresborough around 11.30pm on Sunday, May 17.

North Yorkshire Police arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with the incident and he has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police are now appealing for witness following the incident which they say may have happened inside or outside a property on the street.

PC Darian Dundas, of Harrogate Police, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses who may have seen or heard anything in the Jockey Lane area to contact the police, as they may have important information that could assist the investigation.”
